Random Acts of Kindness

Welcome to RANKDOM ACTS OF KINDESS WEEK!

A simple smile has the power to save lives because you are giving hope. Hope that their is still kind people in the world who live each day to serve others selflessly. As a motivational speaker and educator I aim to teach about the importance of caring for others instead of focusing on themselves.
Define Kindness:: Genuine generosity that comes straight from the heart.
This is the response I gave when asked why I wanted to be apart of the RAK community.

Start with your husband or significant other. Start small and build up each day.
1. Place a sticky note on the mirror or frig that will make them smile or laugh
2. Layout their morning coffee cup and fixings
3. Fix them breakfast or lunch for the day
4. Send a sweet random text message or words of encouragement if you know something big is going down that day
5. Go out of your way to avoid a conflict (allow them to be right…this time)
6. Wake them up with a morning delight Winking smile
7. Get them a random gift of something they would never expect (sports tickets, concert tickets) and to top it off plan for them to go with good friends for a “guys night out”.

Be kind my friends! Here’s to a great Monday!

Motivation Monday!

Monday Funday with a Blog Mad Lib.

Let's get re-motivated, shall we?

I believe that the key to a happy life is OPTIMISM [noun]. OPTIMISM [same noun] inspires me to

be the POSITIVE [adj] person that I am today. I am lucky to have WHITNEY PINKSTON

[person] and SHEENA GREGG [person] in my life because they inspire me to live life to my

fullest and to chase my dreams.

My dream is to one day CONQUER [verb] THE MOTIVATIONAL SPEAKING SCENE and

even if it takes FAILURE [noun], I know I’ll get there because I’m not afraid to dream big!

While I dream big, I hope to inspire others by LEADING OUT LOUD THROUGH EXAMPLE.

Five Days of Fitness

My fitness routine has been non-existent since the summer. Yes, I will run a mile every now and then but, since my last half marathon experience I have been a little discouraged. Honestly, I'm a little scared to start back running. My IT band continues to give me issues. Also, the stress of this past semester has left me physically and mentally exhausted. I continued to tell myself how important exercise is to relieve stress but, I always felt time was not on my side. I will not fall into this routine again in Spring semester. I'm starting a Five Days of Fitness Series to keep me accountable and motivated. March 6th, 2015 is my next scheduled half marathon so, it's time to get serious.

Sunday

Run 2 miles
Yoga

Monday

Run 1 mile

Tuesday

I love print-n-go workouts at Fitness Rx.

Wednesday

Run 3 miles
Power Yoga for runners

Thursday

Run 1-2 miles

Happy Sunday! Share a smile today!

Motivation Monday #Running

Hello Monday! I hope you all had a fabulous weekend. Brian and I did. We spent most of Satuday at the locals farmers market. I'll post pictures soon! If you have been following along you know that I am training for my first half marathon. My first race was suppose to be the Nashville Women's Half Marathon in September with my bestie Whitney, however being a responsible adult got in the way. You can catch up here! Today, I wanted to share my training summary thus far. I have had a few set backs both mentally and physically. My knees are popping like an old persons! Last Monday night I began a lower body workout to help build muscle to pull stress from my knees....I woke the next morning with major soreness in my hammies. Perhaps I over did it?!? When I began to run that day my legs felt like sand bags weighing me down; I decided to take a day off to prevent further injury.

My workout summary for May

10 Workouts
42.0 Total distance (Miles)
7.3 Hours
3,896 kcal burned

My workout summary for April

8 Workouts
32.1 Total Distance (Miles)
5.85 Hours
2,944 kcal burned

I should have of had 24 workouts and 90 miles logged by now... I'm still incredible proud of myself. Running and I still have a love hate relationship, but I can tell you I love running way more outside now then on that treadmill. I use to be the opposite. This week starts week 7 of training.
Get motivated people! Let's Move!!

"You have to wonder at times what you're doing out there. Over the years, I've given myself a thousand reasons to keep running, but it always comes back to where it started. It comes down to self-satisfaction and a sense of achievement."
- Steve Prefontaine

What's motivating you this week??
