National Peanut Butter and Jelly Day!

You guessed it, today is National Peanut Butter and Jelly Day! PB and J's are in my top list of favorite meals. They are so easy to make and so delicious. Today let's make the classic PB&J a little more nutritious. Try these easy PB&J sandwiches.



Classic PB&J and banana Sandwich
2 pieces of Whole Grain bread
1 Tablespoon of Smart Balance PB
1 Tablespoon Sugar Free Jam or Jelly
1 half of sliced bananas

Grilled PB&J Sandwich
2 pieces of Whole Grain bread
1 Tablespoon of Smart Balance PB
1 Tablespoon Sugar Free Jam or Jelly
2 Teaspoons Smart Balance Butter
Add a little butter on both sides of the sandwich and then press in a Panini grill or waffle maker!

Breakfast PB&J Open Sandwich
2 Toasted Whole grain waffles
1 Tablespoon of Smart Balance butter
1 Tablespoon of Smart Balance PB
1 Tablespoon SF Strawberry Jelly, Jam or Preserves
1/2 Cup slice strawberries (or fruit of choice)
Add the butter on each waffle followed by the PB then topped with SF Strawberry preserves and fresh sliced strawberries. Garnish with a dash of powdered sugar.

English muffin PB&J Sandwich
1 Toasted Whole grain English muffin
1 Tablespoon Smart Balance PB
1 Tablespoon SF Jelly, Jam or Preserves
1 small box of raisins
1 Tablespoon sliced Almonds

Other Favorite Brands:
Smart Balance butter and peanut butter
Peter Pan Natural Peanut Butter
Earth Balance Butter
Promise Butter


PB&J’s do not have to be sandwiches! Perhaps you want PB&J cupcakes or dips. Get creative and let me know what you come up with. Mix it up and have fun and remember to look for the nutrition! I think I know what the Huggins will be having for dinner tonight (finally something I can handle in the kitchen)!!

    Love love love that you put up several different kinds of PB&J's, how smart is that?! I LOVE making PB&J's with english muffins. You should try it with the Trader Joe's English Crumpets - it's to die for! Love the look of your blog, will be following you on bloglovin' and GFC! Hopefully my blog will be along your taste too :)
