Summer Kickoff Virtual 5k

Excited to have participated in Kristine's Summer Kickoff Virtual 5k!

It's called a race but there is no winner, no looser. You can walk it, you can run it, you could even bike it. Go solo or team up with friends and family. Hit the streets, the track or the treadmill. Jogging stroller and dogs are permitted :) Just get out and get moving!

What a perfect way to motivate people to Get Moving! I was able to fit it right in with my half marathon training. I run down south in a beautiful city called Tuscaloosa, Alabama (Roll Tide) and man has it been hot! And it is only getting hotter. I always have to prepare for running outside. A gallon of cold water and a cooler of ice with a dry and wet towel...I really do #sweatpink!

The Institute of Medicine recommends 13 cups of water per day for men and 9 cups of water per day for women.

Note: 1 cup=8 oz. Since we are moving a little more we need to supplement what we lose during exercise. Dehydration is nothing to mess around with people! Drink your H20!

Thankfully I run near the water and the Lord sends an occasional burst of wind to cool me off.

Beautiful, I know!

I agree, hydrating yourself is key, ecspecially during the heat of summer. I'm sure you're roasting down there!! Keep up the hard work, I'm excited to soon hear all about your half!
