Another week has come and gone. I hope you have had success with your health and fitness goals. Check out last week's motivation if you missed it! My motivation this week is the desire to overcome my fear of
failure. I have always given excuses for why I can’t perform at my best;
the main reason is I am afraid to fail. Over this past week I have
been reading all the tweets and posts about the
Boston Marathon and the participant’s preparation and hard work. At
first I thought to myself, these people are crazy. Why would you devote
so much time and effort into running, something that I consider the most
boring thing on earth... If you have read my
prior posts you know I’m not a fan of running. I have even said I hate
it, but I do it for my health. And yes I will admit I feel wonderful after mile 6 and I haven't hit the pavement. In an attempt to overcome my fear I have agreed to run
with a good friend in the Women’s Half Marathon in
Nashville, Tn. Because, I still consider myself a beginner I have chosen a 20 week plan. If anyone has any other suggestions PLEASE let me know.. I am starting this plan this week and I will document my journey to Nashville!
My thoughts and prayers go out to all in Boston. What a terribly sad day.
There are 165 days left until the race begins on September 28, 2013
I hope you are motivated to get up go face your fear!
Lord knows I will need your support and motivation to get me to the end.
