My fitness routine has gone to heck over the past month. Although, I do believe in No Excuses, I do have one good one. I had a small surgery that kept me down and out, but that was only for a couple of weeks. In less than 100 days I'll be running the Women's Running Series in Nashville, Tn. This is the same run I did last year for my first half marathon. I remember the hills! Oh, the hills!! Thank goodness I had good company and motivation.
How do you get back your running routine?
I remember being on fire this time last year. I was setting goals and meeting them. I felt so accomplished. Now, I'm lucky if I run 3 miles a week. I just can't find that feeling! If you are a runner or an avid gym goer, then you know the "feeling" I am talking about. You feel invincible, motivated, excited everyday when it's time for your workout. Your excited because you know it may kick your butt, but you are going to give it your best.
I need that FEELING back!
And this is how I'm going to get it!
First, well, run! My doctor released me and I'm free to run and exercise. No more excuses!
This weeks running routine.

What do you do to stay motivated? Any races coming up?

Sunday Social
Happy Sunday, friends.
It feels good to be social today because I have been cooped up in my home this past week. On Monday, I had surgery to remove a nice sized ovarian tumor and a spec of endometriosis. All is well now. God is good. It has been nice spending a week at home letting my husband take care of me and cuddling with my kitties. How was your week?
Now, let's get social with the ladies over at A complete waste of makeup and Ashley Lately.
1. 4 favorite phone apps-You must mean aside from the addictive social media apps, right? Ok!
Ziplist <----Makes grocery shopping very easy.
Studio <---Obsessed! This is the best photo editor for iPhone.
Map My Run <---In my opinion, the best running app.
Map My Run <---In my opinion, the best running app.
Fooducate <--- Ever wonder if the "healthy" foods you are buying are actually a good choice? This app grades food and will give you options to make a better choice.
2. 4 favorite Summer TV shows
Summer slows down my TV time. But, I do have two favorites, "Orange is the new black," and "So you Think you Can Dance."
3. 4 things you would NEVER do
Skydive-NEVER!
Innertube- I guess I should say "never do again." I got flung clear across the lake and lost my breath. It terrified me!
Eat brain. Yes, that's weird and random, but we spend a lot of time watching Bizarre Foods on Travel channel.
Get rid of my cats. I have chosen to live with the massive amounts of cat hair, the occasional gift of a hair ball, the fact that I will never pee in privacy again, and the incessant morning meowing saying "feed me." If you are a cat person, you understand.
4. 4 items you carry with you no matter what
Cell Phone- It honestly annoys me how addicted I am to my phone.
Glasses- I can't see when I drive =(
A ponytail holder. It never fails, if I leave without a ponytail holder I have the worst hair day ever!
My Erin Condren Life Planner!! Are you type A, maybe a little bit OCD? Do you love keeping a calendar? Do you love color and cute design? Then you must get the latest Life Planner.

2. How long have you been blogging?
I have been blogging since 2010. Before I got married, I knew I wanted to start this blog to document our struggles and achievements of learning to be healthy as a married couple. Hence, "Newlywed Nutrition." It has evolved to so much more. Which takes me to number 3!!
3. What is your favorite part of being a blogger and why?
My favorite part of being a blogger is the community. I always knew I would have a few faithful followers (maybe my mom...), but I never thought about the opportunity for networking with other bloggers. I have met so many wonderful bloggers, who I now call friends. The world of blogging is huge and without their support and guidance this world would chew me up and spit me out!
4. Why did you start blogging?
As I stated earlier, I wanted to start this blog to share my experience as a dietitian and a newlywed. Two different people, with two very different eating habits! In a nut shell, my goal is to share advice on how the home can be balanced nutritionally with husband-approved foods!

My family is hands down the best family one could ask for. First, my immediate family consists of my husband, Brian. Brian I and met in jr. high during band class. We both were in the percussion section. He is a very talented drummer. Me? I can play the heck out of a triangle! I still remember the first day I saw Brian. It was before school started and all the kids would have to gather in the gym before the bell rang. As I was sitting with my classmates I noticed a boy walking in with the principal. He was a cute! He was wearing a polo shirt with sailboats. We had a love/hate relationship throughout jr. high and high school. Then the summer after high school graduation we feel in love and have been together ever since. We share a big love for cats! We have two, (left to right) Zoey and Amino Acid. They are our babies.
Because I have such an awesome family I need to tell you a little more about my siblings. I am the baby of 8! Yep, I have 5 sisters-Denise, Tess, Christine, Kim, and Jaime. And two brothers-Sam and Ty. Between all of them there is 11 nieces and nephews (2 more on the way!) and 4 great nieces and nephews. We are so blessed!!
6. Where are you from?
What a blessing it is to call Tuscaloosa, Alabama my home-Roll Tide!! If you are familiar with Tuscaloosa you may know where Coker, Alabama is located. This is actual were I grew up. And yes, with all of those siblings.
7. What is your greatest achievement?
This is a very hard question to answer. The Lord has giving me strength to achieve so much in my life. Because I never saw if coming, I am going to have to say graduating college with honors.
Honestly, I never thought I would be where I am today-married with an awesome career. Growing up I wanted to be a famous actress. After high school I was bound and determined to move to Los Angeles to make it big, but He had bigger plans for me. Don't get me wrong, I still want to be famous. It just may be in a different way.
8. If you could live anywhere where would it be and why?
Stop with the hard questions already!! I cannot tell you a specific place, but I can give you a description. If I could live anywhere it would be a place where I could be hiking through the mountains one day and then laying on snow white beaches the next. If their were mountains on the Gulf Coast, that would be my paradise.
9. Favorite Movie?
Ok, this is easy! Because it is more fun, I'll give you top 3!
3. Alice in Wonderland
2. Now and Then
1. Beetlejuice
I had a strange obsession with scary movies as a child.....And kinda still to!

On and Off Stage! I absolutely love the theatre. I actually started college as a performing arts major. This was my last show in 2012, "Regrets Only."
I went to LA for minute and wanted to stay and pursue commercial acting, but the Lord brought me back home. These are some of my professional head shots.

12. What inspires you?
My family, friends, patients, cats, Christians, and YOU! I see inspiration everywhere in everyone and everything. However, it is my God fearing Mother that inspires me the most.
She is beautiful, brave, courageous, strong, stubborn, loving, independent, honest, and intelligent.
She is everything I wish to be.
14. What is your dream job?
I do not have just one dream job, I have several. All I want to do is have a servants heart and let the Lord guide me. My current profession, as a dietitian, allows me to help the sick, the obese, the malnourished, and the hopeless. My dream job would allow me to share my knowledge of food and nutrition to help others achieve optimal health.
So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.
1 Corinthians 10:31
15. What are you looking forward to most in 2014
Right now, I'm am excited about what the Lord is doing in my life. The opportunities are endless and I know it is all because of His unconditional love.
Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.
Psalm 37:4
I'm looking forward to growing spiritually, making memories everyday with my family and friends, continuing my journey as a graduate student, expanding my brand and blog, starting a book, running more half marathons, and....turning 30! God is Good!
Foodie Friday is going to be so much fun. Please, let me know if you have any recipes or foodie experiences you would like me to feature on Foodie Friday!
